Carefully designed with both current and prospective students/whānau in mind, Blockhouse Bay Primary School’s new website is inviting, modern, and captures the student-centric culture of the school. The design needed to accommodate much more content than the previous site, while still remaining clear and easy to explore. Our goal was to embody the values and qualities of what the school is all about — its students, their engagement and learning, and the importance of the school community.

Colour choice and imagery were important considerations in the design. The colour palette mirrors the signature turquoise and blue hues from the school logo and branding. Thoughtfully directed photography supports the website content while demonstrating the diversity of the school and the many things it has to offer.

 

The website is user-friendly and invites interaction — teaser sections on the homepage encourage exploration while the quick link buttons on the header serve as a useful tool for current students. All the content is easily accessed and clear to read. Built to be responsive, the website also looks great across all screen sizes and different devices.
