Mountain View School students engage enthusiastically in whānau competition which highlights, among other things, their school values. To reflect this integral part of their school identity, Mountain View School wanted to update their existing certificates with ones that were more relevant, recognisable and that the kids would ultimately think were ‘cool’.

These school certificates were designed as a set of six to showcase the school’s whānau mascots and each of the school values. The handwritten font and starburst pattern draw on comic book inspiration but with a Pasifika twist, representing the strong Pasifika make-up of the school.
 

The design of these values certificates led to the creation of the Mana certificate (awarded for exceptional display of the school values) which is stylised to have a more formal and premium feel.
